Specially designed for day and night jigging, the new Zest Tunita Jig is perfect for targeting Bluefin Tuna and our Kingfish.
The Tunita Jig for tuna is ideal given tuna have a preference for shorter jigs that can be worked in a slow pitch or high (fast) pitch action. The compact, tail weighted shape allows for it to drop quickly to the target in deeper water.
Working by Slow Pitching can be a slow lift and wind or simply yoyoing in between a handle turn. Mix up your retrieve speed and pause interval to allow Tunita to swim.
High Pitch jigging will definitely excite Tuna into a reaction bite so be prepared for the big hit. Tunita will react to a blazingly fast retrieve or a slower methodical one as this design can do it all.
The Tunita jig is factory rigged with a single high quality hook at the head. This is more suited to high pitch jigging. When slow pitch jigging you can add a further single or double hook to the tail. This helps in the jig’s action between rod lifts.
